Portland Trail Blazers Gameday Design

The Portland Trail Blazers commissioned a game day poster and shirt that best represented both the Portland team as a whole and their opponent that night.  December 17th, 2021 the Blazers faced the Charlotte Hornets.  The design must represent the team as a whole without alluding to individual players or including specific jersey numbers or names and was printed onto 100 exclusive  11 x 17 posters and 100 t-shirts to be sold during the match.

Since fashion in the sense of clothing is typically limited in team sports, many players can show their individuality in other ways. This design focused on a common practice in the NBA community: tattoos.  Since no individual players could be focused on, the tattoos instead spoke to the home aspect of Portland's home team.  Allusions to the city of roses, the mascot Blaze, when the team was founded, and of course, Bridge city were represented through the tattoos on the player's arms at tipoff. The other team was represented through a hornet and the city name on the palm of the player losing the tipoff. The poster was then given
paper and printed texture in Photoshop to enhance the vintage sports look.
