Life of the Party
2’ x 5’ Acrylic, Ink on Unstretched Canvas
8” x 10” Risograph Ink (Florescent Orange, Yellow, Bright Red, Teal, Orchid, Federal Blue)
Skeletons, although often portrayed as dead people in classic horror, typically lack the ‘memories’ or ‘resemblance’ of the living body and are therefore seen as more separate and individual entities than ghosts or zombies who are continuing the same one ‘life’ they have in their death. It seems skeletons are given a new life when the skin and muscle is taken away and unrecognizable. These works explore the skeleton as having their own new personalities and experiences through different media. It includes mediums such as Riso print, ink, and acrylic.
Presented in L'Appel du Vide Exhibition 2023.
